Imhotep!
I didn't celebrate Upet Ronpet because I was just too tired and then I ended up getting really busy during the day. Yesterday was supposed to be another Kemetic lunar festival but I ended up sleeping right through it. I guess I was just way too tired. Tonight will be the New Moon and I will be celebrating that.

Upet Ronpet
Imhotep!
Tonight will be Upet Ronpet. Now this is the Egyptian New Year and a time to celebrate. We honor the god Ra and we burn images of Apophis. Depending on if I can do it, I will be doing this ritual tonight. If not, it will be tomorrow before the sun goes down. I will post a photo when I'm done.

Honoring Nephthys (Day 5)
Imhotep!
Tomorrow the Days Upon the Year will be closing and I will be honoring Nephthys, Isis, Osiris, and Seth's sister. It will be sad that it will end but it will come back next year. I will post a photo of the shrine when I'm done.

Honoring Isis (Day 4)
Imhotep!
Tonight I honored the goddess Isis/Aset. Here's the photo.
The ritual was great and I loved that I have a long enough table that I can put my cabinet on it. I will have to put it in storage due to bedbugs but I do plan on getting another one. Hail Isis and may everyone have a good one.

Honoring Set
Imhotep!
Tonight I will be celebrating the third day and it's for Seth. Seth is the brother of Osiris, Isis, and Set's own sister. Set is considered an evil god by most Pagans and even some Christians. Set is the only one that can battle the demon snake and later on he became associated with the snake, Apip. I will enjoy honoring Set and giving him offerings.

Days Upon the Year (2017)
When the sun goes down it will be the beginning of The Days Upon the Year. These are the days before the beginning of the new Kemetic year. They are for Isis, Osiris, Horus, Set, and Isis sister. The first day is for Osiris, the second day is for Horus, the third is for Set, the fourth is for Isis and the fifth is for Nephthys. I will be celebrating the first one, before I go to bed. I hope that you all have a good one.

Late Post: Pesedjentiu
Imhotep!
I should of done this last night but I was just too tired. I celebrated the New Moon and I'm going to say that it was great to be able to do this. Tonight will be A-bed, something else that I'm looking forward to. Hopefully I won't have my cat jumping on my altar and ruining things. He really loves doing that. Here's photo from last night's ritual.

Changes
Imhotep!
So I went into work yesterday and we were all told that the payday has changed from Friday to Wednesday. That means, today, I'm ordering my things from that shop and setting up my next order which I will be doing on the third. I'm really excited that I don't have to wait until next week to get it but that's the only thing that I'm excited about.

The End of the First Season of American Gods
I'm going to focus on the Egyptian gods in this post and what I thought about it. First of all I'm glad that no one is complaining about the decision to cast black actors for the Egyptian gods. I really loved the actor that played Anubis and I loved Thoth's writing. I really hope the actor has wonderful handwriting. It makes us believe that he cares about the words that he writes.
American gods main focus was about belief. The woman that Anubis took still believed in the old gods and the weighting of the heart was amazing. I loved the scenery in that realm of the afterlife. The heart looked like the real thing, which is what I consider a great amazing focus on detail. I really hope that season two will have Horus, or Heru, and maybe Bast. I really would love to see Bast in the next season. Looking forward to it coming out on DVD/BluRay and the release date of the second season.
I also believe that it will get people talking about these gods, no matter which pantheon, and that's important.

Being Busy
I just wanted to come on here and say that I'm sorry for not being on. Things have been crazy, I've been working, and I've been sick. I hope to get back around doing posts and talking about my path and where it's going.

It's been a couple of months since I've posted anything and I'm sorry about that. I've just been really busy and now I have a job and all that jazz. I'm going to work on getting some of the things that I mentioned that I want to get and I will have the money to do it. Thanks, everyone for understanding that you can't post all the time.

Going to Work on Getting a Copy of The Book of the Dead
Imhotep!
One of the most important things that you can get, to help better understand what we know about the Kemetic (Egyptian) views of the afterlife is to obtain a copy of 'The Book of the Dead.' One of my goals this year is to get a copy of this book. I have one on my wishlist, which I'm going to aim to get in April. It will be the only item that I'm buying during the month of April. One of the things that I must warn is don't get anything from Wallis Budge.
He was a good author back in the late 1800's but his translations are out of date. There are better ones out there, including the book that I'm getting in April. There are other books that I'm planning on getting during this year and adding them to my small library that I will have at the new place.

Late Post: I'm Back On
Imhotep!
Last Friday the net came back on, which I'm happy about. Found out that someone is following me, which is great. I hope that I can do good things on this blog as it gets closer to the first month being on here. I think that blogs are important, as they help others to learn things and to read about how someone puts their religion to use in their daily lives. I think that if we didn't have blogs, social media, and videos it would be a bad place.
These things help to connect others to what their looking for. I hope that these things continue to be available in the future. Note: The next time that a lunar holiday comes around I will post a photo.

Imbolc
Imhotep!
Even though Imbolc isn't an Egyptian holiday. I'm going to celebrate it with the ritual called Feast of Lifting the Sky. Yesterday, I bought everything that I needed, food and drink wise, and the rest I just don't have. I'm looking forward to celebrating this one and honoring the gods Ra and Sekhmet. I hope that you will have a good ritual, no matter what you celebrate.

Senut
Imhotep!
Tonight is Senut, a time to honor the gods Osiris and Isis. We honor them, the god Osiris that brought civilization and the ability to grow food, and Isis, who is ever over our lives. I hope that you have a good one.

Peret-Min
Imhotep!
Tonight will be Peret-Min, the last lunar holiday of this month. It's in honor of the gods Min and Isis. Min is known for his fertility and for his erect member. Isis is the goddess of magic that was once called Aset. I hope that you all have a good one.

Being Off for a Bit
Imhotep!
Sometime during the night, my net is going to get cut, again. The reason is the same reason as before. Not enough money to pay the bill. However, I will be back on early on the third. To ensure that my posts do come on at the right time I have written them in advance and they will post when they're supposed to. I will still be able to load that photo of my Imbolc Egyptian altar on the third, so that's not going to be a problem.
I'll be back before you know it and things will be well.

Importance of Connection
Imhotep!
One of the most important things that I've learned in the three years that I've been a follower of the Kemetic deities is that connection is important. Connecting with other Kemetics and even those that practice Tameran Wicca. Without these connections, you can't move forward and you can't grow. Connecting with others that follow the same religion helps a person out because they can talk to others that are like them.
Distancing yourself from others doesn't help you grow. Hearing their stories can benefit you in the long run. So it doesn't matter if you blog, or listen to videos, or even take part in live rituals, it can help you out greatly. Honoring the gods shouldn't be a solitary thing. Being part of a community is really the best thing out there.

Denit
Imhotep!
Tonight is going to be Denit, where we honor the gods Thoth and Hathor. Over the course of the next month I will be covering these different holidays. The last one, which took place last week, will be the last one until we have one in April. Right now I'm going to be honoring the gods during the lunar holidays. I hope that you all have a good one.

Which Deity Am I Drawn To
Imhotep!
So one of the questions that does sometimes come up is which deity am I drawn to. I don't believe in matron or patron deities, that's a concept that the ancient Egyptians didn't know anything about. And it's something that was adopted by the Wiccans from the Greeks. The deity that I'm drawn to is Sobek, the crocodile god. He was connected with the pharoh and represented his strength. I'm in the process of getting a Sobek statue to take with me when I go to Virgina and I'm pretty excited about getting it.
Sobek represents strength to me and that's something that I need.

What is Kemetic Reform?
Imhotep!
So what is Kemetic Reform? Kemetic Reform is a between of Kemetic Orthodoxy and Eclectic Paganism. We consider ourselves part of the non-Eclectic community since we honor the gods as close to how it was done back then. However, we don't demand that everything be done as it was if you can't do it. I love this path because there are no jerks, no morons, and no one telling you what to do. It's a non-dogmatic path that honors the gods of Egypt and brings them into the here and now.
Unlike some groups within Kemeticism there is no need to be 'apart of that culture' in order to honor the Egyptian, or Kemetic, gods. You don't have to be black to honor Ra. I hope that this helps someone out in understanding what this path is about.

Welcome
This is my first post of my new blog and I want to thank everyone for coming on here and reading my posts. I will be talking about all sorts of things on this blog from how I practice to information about the different gods and goddess of ancient Egypt. I'm using the word Egypt to talk about the country and the Greek names for the Egyptian gods instead of the Kemetic ones. I consider myself to be a Kemetic Reformest and not a Kemetic Recon.
I hope that you enjoy it here and that you take something away from it.
