Peret-Min
Imhotep!
Tonight will be Peret-Min, the last lunar holiday of this month. It's in honor of the gods Min and Isis. Min is known for his fertility and for his erect member. Isis is the goddess of magic that was once called Aset. I hope that you all have a good one.

Being Off for a Bit
Imhotep!
Sometime during the night, my net is going to get cut, again. The reason is the same reason as before. Not enough money to pay the bill. However, I will be back on early on the third. To ensure that my posts do come on at the right time I have written them in advance and they will post when they're supposed to. I will still be able to load that photo of my Imbolc Egyptian altar on the third, so that's not going to be a problem.
I'll be back before you know it and things will be well.

Importance of Connection
Imhotep!
One of the most important things that I've learned in the three years that I've been a follower of the Kemetic deities is that connection is important. Connecting with other Kemetics and even those that practice Tameran Wicca. Without these connections, you can't move forward and you can't grow. Connecting with others that follow the same religion helps a person out because they can talk to others that are like them.
Distancing yourself from others doesn't help you grow. Hearing their stories can benefit you in the long run. So it doesn't matter if you blog, or listen to videos, or even take part in live rituals, it can help you out greatly. Honoring the gods shouldn't be a solitary thing. Being part of a community is really the best thing out there.

Denit
Imhotep!
Tonight is going to be Denit, where we honor the gods Thoth and Hathor. Over the course of the next month I will be covering these different holidays. The last one, which took place last week, will be the last one until we have one in April. Right now I'm going to be honoring the gods during the lunar holidays. I hope that you all have a good one.

Which Deity Am I Drawn To
Imhotep!
So one of the questions that does sometimes come up is which deity am I drawn to. I don't believe in matron or patron deities, that's a concept that the ancient Egyptians didn't know anything about. And it's something that was adopted by the Wiccans from the Greeks. The deity that I'm drawn to is Sobek, the crocodile god. He was connected with the pharoh and represented his strength. I'm in the process of getting a Sobek statue to take with me when I go to Virgina and I'm pretty excited about getting it.
Sobek represents strength to me and that's something that I need.

What is Kemetic Reform?
Imhotep!
So what is Kemetic Reform? Kemetic Reform is a between of Kemetic Orthodoxy and Eclectic Paganism. We consider ourselves part of the non-Eclectic community since we honor the gods as close to how it was done back then. However, we don't demand that everything be done as it was if you can't do it. I love this path because there are no jerks, no morons, and no one telling you what to do. It's a non-dogmatic path that honors the gods of Egypt and brings them into the here and now.
Unlike some groups within Kemeticism there is no need to be 'apart of that culture' in order to honor the Egyptian, or Kemetic, gods. You don't have to be black to honor Ra. I hope that this helps someone out in understanding what this path is about.

Welcome
This is my first post of my new blog and I want to thank everyone for coming on here and reading my posts. I will be talking about all sorts of things on this blog from how I practice to information about the different gods and goddess of ancient Egypt. I'm using the word Egypt to talk about the country and the Greek names for the Egyptian gods instead of the Kemetic ones. I consider myself to be a Kemetic Reformest and not a Kemetic Recon.
I hope that you enjoy it here and that you take something away from it.
